We only had about 16 kids total. The...Good point. We only had about 16 kids total. They came in three groups. The first was about 8 white kids with two dads. The second was three Latino kids with a mom. The third was four African-American kids with a mom. None of them were from our neighborhood, that I knew of. One group came by car, parked outside our house and came up the yard to our door. I think they were here last year, too.<br /><br />I wonder where the neighborhood kids were.<br />I wonder why only a couple houses in our little neighborhood had their lights on.<br />I wonder where the big kids were.<br /><br />There is wonderment on days like Halloween. Excitement in the air, anticipation of treats, treasures and smiling kids. It's electric, especially when the weather is perfect and it falls on "fall back" night. <br /><br />And it does tell one of the stories of our spiritual willingness to welcome and invite.
